Continence Core Developers get started
The first meeting of the core developers for the continence templates met in Perth on 8 June 2006. The picture shows Norma Craig, Wilma Nicolson and Mary Ballentyne getting down to some serious work.
The group will build on the work of the NHS QIS Best Practice Statement: Continence: adults with urinary dysfunction
The BPS covers assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Assessment is done by a series of questions, which lead to a diagnosis of the type of continence problem, then recommended best practice to address this.
The group are considering developing a range of tools, from a concise ‘basic’ tool for general use, through to specialist tools for advanced practice. All their work will be open to view and comment as it is developed.
