Comments for Continence

    - 10 May 2006, 11:28

We are now open for business.
Please add your comments on how you’d like to get things started.
Maybe upload any existing continence assessments you think would be good sources?

Good to get off the mark. I will start by agreeing with Dereks comment re. uploading any existing assessment forms. If we look at what’s available we should be able to devise one that would be suitable to the majority of staff throught Scotland – and why not the rest of Britain.
Although NHS Borders assessment form is based on the QIS best practice statement it has gaps, this is mainly due to staff and patient comments following the consultation exercise. These gaps may have been covered by others in their assessment forms.
I look forward to assisting in this initiative

For now, please just email stuff to me- any documents or links to things on the web, and I’ll add them to this page.

Take a look at the ‘Navel Fluff’ group (yeah, I know…) which is set up just to play with. There’s an example template, taken from the Tissue Viability Nurses’ wound assessment chart. If you look at that you’ll see you can show/hide comments, and add comments directly against items in the template.

If you have something we can use to get started, we’ll do the same kind of thing here.

On the Navel Fluff example template, it would be great to hear what you think, more in terms of the format rather than the detailed content.

Can you access it? Can you understand it? Is it clear enough for you to be able to comment? Is the style OK? Is there anything needs adding/changing in terms of layout? etc.

I’m just confirming I’ve accessed the site and managed to navigate it no problem. Have looked at the navel fluff site and its very helpful for learning how to use this process. I couldn’t bring up the wound assessment chart – I did wait for a wee while but I suppose I may have run out of patience before the connection was made.
I’ll revisit the site when I have more time.
